The thing I like best about my career as an event videographer is the very real sense of appreciation conveyed by my clients and their families.

The idea that my work has contributed significant value to so many couples' lives, now and far into the future makes what I do very gratifying.

The DVDs of Kate and Nick's wedding have arrived, and they are fabulous! Actually, they are exactly what we expected. We knew, from the moment we met you at the wedding show at Birch Hill so many years ago, that we would love working with you. And, from the moment we sat down with you and reviewed your work on other weddings, we knew that your talent, creativity, and professionalism were outstanding.

The lovely, creative things that you did in the editing process made this DVD a delight to watch. The extra tape you made of the surroundings at both Holy Names and The Glen Sanders, from the stained glass windows to the lovely flowering shrubs, and the creative way you inserted them in the DVD enriched the video so much. These touches gave the wedding such a sense of place. The individual photos of the bridesmaids taken with Kate at The Glen Sanders were wonderful; the photos of the people at their tables were done so beautifully. Al, I could go on and on!

Michael and I relived moments we remembered, remembered moments we had forgotten, and even saw things that we did not see the evening of the wedding. Because Kate was facing away from us, I never saw her face as she recited her wedding vows and placed the ring on Nick's finger. It was so moving to see that part of the wedding on the video. You have my 81-year old mother and her companion, Al, dancing. They take dancing lessons and are both superb dancers. What a delight to see that.

Kate and Nick's wedding was a wonderful, emotional event for us all, and you captured it, big and small moments alike, so beautifully. We will view your DVD for years to come with great pleasure. Please don't hesitate to share our comments, or this entire letter, with anyone who is looking for a videographer for their wedding. We would recommend you to anyone, without reservation.

Al, I'm so glad that your father is well. We wish you and your family all the best.

I can hardly believe that Dave and I just recently celebrated our second wedding anniversary already! Since we recently watched our wedding DVD again (this time with my Mom who had not seen it yet), I really thought it was high time I write you (one year for the film, one year for my response; hope you don't mind... the wait was so well worth it though, so we didn't mind after all!).

Of course we think -among other things ;) - of you each time we watch it - and of course I meant to tell you that the DVD is absolutely wonderful. We love both the edited and the unedited versions and are glad we got both! The edited version is beautiful with the "reflections" and the way you put the people together toasting towards the end ("with a little help from my friends" - perfect!!!), and waving while we were in a group, and the music, and the subtitles, and the covers, and the prints on the DVDs themselves - they are so beautifully done! The unedited version does not have any "camera swinging" at all by the way!!! :) We love it because it shows even more scenes, and our only "regret" is that we didn't persuade you to stay at our wedding until the very last minute when we all went home! Hey, it was only two or so more hours!

All the filming is excellent; thoughtful and beautiful, and you are a wonderful artist. Our DVD is what truly brings the wedding back to us as it was - the moments, the people, the venue, the music, our ceremony, the flowers, all the emotions - like no photo can! But not only do we have a film that we will treasure forever, it was also our greatest pleasure to have you in our wedding - you were like a friend to us - and I would have no other, regardless of whether they had given us the same film.

P.S. It occurred to us that although we have a ton of photos unfortunately with our photographer in them, you are not anywhere to be found! HOW did you pull that off? :) Do you have one of yourself maybe from our wedding, from that day, from the area, or if not, another one, to make our album complete?

I just spoke with my mother who told me she spoke with you regarding ordering more videos. Words cannot describe how thrilled we are with the video. Everyone who has seen it wants a copy which is what has prompted my mother to order more. You captured the day perfectly and it was so nice to see and relive moments that seemed hazy due to being caught in the moment of the day. It is such a whirlwind and it is easy to forget things such as readings, special music, speeches etc. so it is so amazing to sit back and really enjoy those moments over and over again.

Everything flowed amazingly and the music was just perfect. Joe and I keep watching it over and over again and we enjoy it more and more each time we see it. It is so fun sharing it with family and friends and will allow us to relive our special day for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much, it was SO worth the wait.

We wish you all the best and will most certainly recommend you to anyone and everyone we know who will be getting married or is close to someone getting married. Thank you for preserving our memory in a way that will provide a lifetime of laughter, tears and love.

You did a WONDERFUL job!!!!!!!!!! The wedding video is amazing!!!!!!!!! The package arrived yesterday (I guess it was quicker than 5 to 7 days) and so we watched the video last night. It was worth waiting every minute for because you did such an amazing job. You captured the day perfectly - all of the details and the people and the setting. And the songs you selected were perfect. We absolutely loved watching it and it took us right back to the day. THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing such an AWESOME job!!!!! Also thank you for offering to send another copy to the Upper Montclair address - this will not be necessary as I will bring a copy home with my so that I can share it with my family.

However, I did want to ask you a favor. Would you be able to make a PAL copy for use in the UK? This is the format which can be viewed on all UK machines (fortunately our machine can play all formats but Graham's family is unable to view the NTSC format which is used in the states). We would be extremely grateful if you could kindly make one PAL copy and send it to the Upper Montclair address - then I can bring this back to the UK with me to give to Graham's parents.

I don't know if you remember us, but we were married five years ago today. We just got done watching our video with our 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter. I just wanted to thank you again for your professionalism and dedication.

Because your attention to detail and flawless work, we were able to re-live those moments you captured. We have been through a lot of good times since that day, and unfortunately bad times as well. However, it is refreshing to play our video and remember how it all started. I just wanted to convey my thoughts because I know how "routine" work can seem at times; but just know how much you truly affect people and their memories.

I just finish watching the video you produced for my son's wedding on Sep 29 (Dan McAuliffe). It's no exaggeration to say that is was simply fantastic. The video, production, editing, transitions, switches between color and black and white, etc produced a sense of glamour that was so enjoyable and exciting to watch. You captured the spirit of the day and the entire wedding and you were able to bring in all the guests in a complementary way. It brought a rush of feelings as fresh as the day the wedding occurred. The whole thing was obviously well planned in advanced, perfectly executed and all brought together at the end. It will always be as a real treasure for our family.

I just wanted to write one more time to tell you how much we love our wedding video! Funny story, my mom is a nurse manager in a Nursing Home where she has taken care of many people through the years and knows all their families etc.

Anyway..she was saying how great our video was and some of the patients and families asked her to bring it in. So basically, they had a little viewing of our video with a bunch of the patients and they just loved it!

So I thought you would like to know your talents brought a little afternoon of happiness to a nice group of elderly folks :)

Pete was out of town and we just had a chance to watch it for the 1st time last night. My family members were as impressed as we were w/ the quality of your work..

There were so many aspects about it that we loved but one that we all commented on is how you scanned everyone at the reception but played music over all their (cheesy, in many cases!) comments!!! You got tons of coverage of our son, etc. etc.. I'll have to call to tell you everything we liked!!

It was really spectacular... worth the wait... You did a perfect job of adding just enough of your artistry to the documentary style we wanted. We could not be happier.

We've watched our wedding movie countless times and are still amazed by your work. Thank you for capturing our day with such grace and elegance and such a keen eye. You are so truly talented that I can't even refer to your work as a "video." That is what other videographers do, they simply videotape the day and send it to the bride and groom. You, produce art. You make a wedding day movie, a film inclusive of the most special moments that can't be captured any other way.

I remember getting your demo in the mail along with all of the others I had requested from area professionals. You had come recommended to me. After viewing all of the demos, without question we wanted you. We had only been engaged for about 1 month and had already set our date. I remember Mike and me agreeing that if we couldn't get you for our date, we would move our wedding date to accommodate your schedule. What would be the point of spending all of that money on a wedding, if we couldn't have it captured by you? You are that worth it. Mike and I shed no tears on our wedding day but we certainly can't watch our video without a box of tissues close by.

Our wedding film captures the most precious moments of our day that simply can't be caught by any other medium. If I had been a bride on a budget, I would have picked an Al Woodard movie over still photography without question. Since our wedding, we have looked at our album one by ourselves, and once to show each of our parents. It is now neatly tucked away in a closet and I'm sure it'll only come out once every few years. But our wedding film, we can't stop watching it! And, we show it to everyone who comes by.

I also want to thank you for your professionalism. From the moment we called you to view a sample of your work through the time we received our final product you were a joy to work with. You were gracious in hosting us at your house to view other samples of your work, you were always responsive, and we never noticed you or your partner at our wedding.

I just saw the Liz and Alan Smith wedding video. It is absolutely beautiful! Your work is exceptional, Al. It truly is. You are a very talented artist. You brought the day alive for us.
